Working Principle

Cryogenic globe valve is perpendicular to the sealing surface of the valve seat. The opening or closing stroke of the valve stem is relatively short, and it has a very reliable cut-off action, making this valve very suitable as a medium for cut-off or adjustment and throttling.

Once the low-temperature shut-off valve is in the open state, there is no contact between its valve seat and valve flap sealing surface, so its mechanical wear on the sealing surface is small, because most valve seats and valve flaps are easier to repair or It is not necessary to remove the entire valve from the pipeline when replacing the sealing element, which is very suitable for the case where the valve and the pipeline are welded together. The flow direction of the medium through such valves has changed, so the flow resistance of the stop valve is higher than other valves.




(1) The structure is simpler than the gate valve, and it is more convenient to manufacture and maintain.

(2) The sealing surface is not easy to be worn and scratched, and the sealing is good. There is no relative sliding between the valve flap and the sealing surface of the valve body when opening and closing, so the wear and scratch are not serious, the sealing performance is good, and the service life is long.

(3) When opening and closing, the valve flap stroke is small, so the height of the shut-off valve is smaller than the gate valve, but the structural length is longer than the gate valve.

(4) The opening and closing torque is large, the opening and closing are more laborious, and the opening and closing time is longer.

(5) The fluid resistance is large, because the medium channel in the valve body is tortuous, the fluid resistance is large, and the power consumption is large.

(6) When the nominal pressure PN≤16MPa in the medium flow direction, generally use co-flow, the medium flows upward from below the valve flap; when the nominal pressure PN≥20MPa, generally use reverse flow, the medium flows downward from the flap to increase the energy of the seal . When in use, the shut-off valve medium can only flow in one direction, and the flow direction cannot be changed.

The fault occurred at each connection. Low-temperature valves belong to this type of failure. The valve packing runs through the freezing point, the flange of the valve seat and the pipeline leaks, and the tin thread at both ends of the valve sleeve leaks. The stem packing is generally in the packing groove where the stem is close to the wall of the cold box. When the packing is uneven, not tight, or the stem is not straight or round, low-temperature liquid or gas will leak out along the gap at the packing. Due to the cold transfer, the moisture in the air will freeze on the packing and freeze the valve stem. . In this case, the valve can only be opened and closed by heating the packing with steam or hot water. However, after the valve is opened and closed, the water accumulated in the packing will freeze again. Due to the laborious valve opening and closing, fire-fighting valves often cause the valve stem to break and the handwheel to break. Therefore, after repairing the valve, the packing should be evenly and tightly tightened, and the compression nut should be tightened. In the overall air separation leak test, the leak at the stem packing should also be checked, and this problem should be solved before cold driving. The common causes of flange leakage are unsmooth and uneven sealing surfaces, insufficient pipeline compensation, bolts that are not tightened evenly, and bolt materials that are improper. The two ends of the outer sleeve of the valve stem are connected by tin-filled threads, which are prone to cracks and leakage after long-term use. When the pressure test leaks, if such a leak is found, it is best to withdraw the valve stem and refill it with tin, tighten it, and preferably use silver welding.
